ALIPRO's Project Planning Cycle training is a ‘paper-planning’ course that teaches participants how to gather, organize and schedule all necessary planning details, thus enabling them to own and troubleshoot the content of their project plans – without the involvement of software. This training addresses project organization and definition, and includes the practice of using project charters, work breakdown structure, network logic diagramming, scheduling, and critical path identification as well as defining project resources and costs, and dealing with business constraints and project risks.

Our Project Planning Workshop presents an excellent opportunity for your team to collectively build their project delivery plan under the guidance of an ALIPRO Professional Planning Facilitator.

A planning session led by ALIPRO ensures your team understands and uses the practices and tools introduced in our PPC Training. We’ll confirm the robustness of your project charter, delivery team structure and their roles and responsibilities. We’ll lead your team to work together to create their project summary structure, define work tasks, build a Network Logic Diagram, forecast the delivery schedule, identity the critical path, and optimize their plan against business constraints.

Any project performance issues that surface during the Planning Workshop will be logged in a Project Issues and Actions Report to be presented along with the Project Plan for acceptance by the Project Sponsor(s) once the team returns to their normal work environment.

The Project Delivery Cycle covers 90-95% of the entire project life cycle. It is typically a highly stressful phase when the project can quickly get off track if execution issues are not resolved in a timely manner.

Proactive management of the Project Delivery Cycle is paramount to ensuring the project delivers its customer satisfaction goals and return on investment to the business.

Our Project Delivery Cycle training teaches the monitoring and control techniques required to effectively coordinate the execution of project activities, control scope creep, and keep the project navigation plan current. This learning empowers attendees with the know-how, tools and practices necessary to maintain control of project direction during this critical management phase.

Learning includes how to use activity sheets to ensure tasks are performed to scheduled dates, employ an update process to keep the project plan current, analyze performance, troubleshoot and resolve execution issues, and devise recovery plans for tasks that get off track and how to prepare for and run project control meetings, as well as contribute to business reviews.

Risk is a factor that is introduced with every project endeavor. The key to managing project risk is to proactively recognize project threats and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.

ALIPRO’s Risk Management training demonstrates how to employ a risk management and resolution practice to identify known - as well as unknown - project risks. Participants learn how to incorporate risk planning within the project management cycle to identify and analyze project risks and determine required actions to effectively address or avoid any serious project impact.

Attendees gain understanding in how to apply risk mitigation and avoidance practices such as ACAT (Avoid, Control, Accept, and Transfer) and risk monitoring and control tools such as RAID and RAIM logs.

The purpose of Obeya is primarily to ensure project success and shorten the plan-do-check-act process. Obeya in Japanese means ‘big room’. The Obeya room typically displays charts and metrics depicting program and/or project timing, milestones and progress, along with countermeasures to tackle existing timing or technical problems and is where the project team routinely meets to address execution needs.

Our training introduces Obeya as a visual project management practice that enhances effective and timely communication of project status through cross-functional team collaboration. Participants learn how to establish an Obeya room that employs the practice of tracking project delivery through time, cost and quality objectives to quickly surface and resolve issues that threaten completion of project deliverables.
